Regarding the shootings in Pennsylvania...
"The Bush administration on Monday called for a school violence summit to be held next week with education and law enforcement officials to discuss possible federal action..."
Doesn't anyone get it? It wasn't "school violence"...it was gun violence. Can someone tell me again why we need guns?
Are you insinuating that these children wouldn’t hurt each other if they’d never had access to guns? Or people wouldn’t hurt others if they had no guns? Guns happen to be the weapon of choice for these already violent individuals. All things can be considered dangerous. So you can put a gun in the hands of any American, is that automatically dangerous? Historically, some thought that putting knowledge into the minds of women could be dangerous; where is the logic? Individuals have choices, individuals have issues. Just because some have issues, does that mean that none of us may have choices?
ReplyDeleteGuns are the problem. Violence is part of human nature no matter what we would like to think. But guns are almost always lethal and are far too easy to own.
