As you may have noticed; I added a “hit counter” to this page. I used to have one before the changeover to Blogger Beta, but it disappeared into the ether. And the hits were up to about 5,100 before it disappeared. I tried resetting this new counter to 5,100 and although I thought I had done everything correctly, it stubbornly refused to move the numbers upwards.
That’s pretty much typical of my success with computers lately. I still can’t figure out how to make a web page “refresh” automatically. I did get the book I ordered and I may find the answer yet. The book is entitled, “My Web Page is Better Than Yours”. Written by the CEO of CoffeeCup software. And the book is fascinating; filled with great ideas for websites. He uses his own company website for illustrative purposes. Now all I have to is get up to speed once again on basic HTML and learn something of the XHTML that’s included.
When you enter your blog from your profile it also has a counter - 742 when I last looked - much lower than I remember!
