Wood Heat

Here we go again. Another day is here and ready for use. I’m going to begin with a trip out to the old olive orchard to secure just one more load of wood. I probably already have enough wood to last us through our heating emergency, but when it’s offered, free, it is difficult to turn down. And it certainly burns well, although I have to use my Skilsaw to cut it up. The chain saw struggles to cut through it while the Skilsaw never hesitates.

I need to remember to take a camera to the orchard this morning. I really should get in the habit of keeping a camera around and taking pictures more often. You never know when that perfect shot will present itself.

And it looks like the mini-drought is over; the forecast is getting better each day and the “chance of rain” percentages are rising. I think some amount of rain is now inevitable. Isn’t that a good reason to get more firewood?

The news this morning is simply…the news as usual. Fascinating. And speaking of that; a friend of ours mentioned that she never read the news anymore because it depressed her. And then we discussed whether the news is worse these days than in the past; let’s say 50 years ago. I contended that the news is just about the same. But now we are faced with a technology that will allow us to experience the news delivery 24/7. We have a hard time avoiding it. But that’s fine with me. In fact I think the desire to know what’s happening at all times is linked to the Intuitive portion of my personality. (INFP) Intuitives are always seeking data. Just like the robot in that movie? What was the name of that movie?

Speaking of pictures…and the news.

“A leaked video in which an American pilot is heard saying "we're in jail, dude," after U.S. troops killed a British soldier during a friendly fire incident in Iraq was released by The Sun newspaper Tuesday.”

You can never be sure anymore that your actions aren’t being filmed. There are cameras everywhere! And of course there are websites to view all of those images. YouTube is probably the first place to look for videos such as this, though viewing it won’t do a thing to erase the terrible accident. Sad.

But, on a more positive note…you can find all of the Super Bowl ads on YouTube. Every one of them. And you don’t even have to watch the game!
