A new King

Things are heating up in a hurry. The winds have died down (Finally!) but the warm air remains, bringing us a 90 plus day. It’s a good thing that we have to irrigate this week; the trees will really need it after all of that drying wind.

I still haven’t seen the official results from yesterday’s race, so I’m stuck with the 49:03 results for now, though I doubt it will get much better than that. And I can feel the effects of that effort this morning. Ouch! Obviously, I hadn’t really stretched those muscles as much as I should have. But, on the bright side…I know for sure that I was competitive. That’s something that’s always missing from the solo training sessions.

The news this morning is depressing. The only thing I can see that inspires hope is a plan I read about the other day that would use Kudzu to make biofuel. What a perfect use for it! “The Plant That Ate the South” grows wildly in the climate of the southern states and that could lift some of them out of poverty. (Cotton is no longer "King")
