Weird. Somehow I struck the wrong combination of keys and I unknowingly turned on the voice recognition software in Word. Every time I typed a letter, the software would interpret that sound and add “space-ff” to each letter.
Also, now on the list of completed chores…I fixed the washers in the kitchen faucet. That was a chore that I wasn’t looking forward to, as any time I touch plumbing, I can count on a disaster! But oddly enough, the hardest part of the whole repair process was finding the right part at Lowe’s. I had downloaded a faucet schematic from the manufacturer (Delta) and I actually knew the part number, but I was faced with a huge selection in the store. A million little plastic bags with cryptic numbers and letters. Once I found it, or something that resembled it, I headed home and put the washers on the sink. Near the faucet. For a week. I might have been hoping that proximity alone would be enough for a cure. Finally I gathered up my courage and prepared to do battle. The whole repair process took less than 5 minutes. I’m impressed with Delta!
I spent some time yesterday looking at new cars, on-line. The Nissan Altima hybrid was one that I was interested in and then I read that they had bought the technology from Toyota. So why not look at a Toyota hybrid? The Prius is certainly a possibility. And of course I looked at the new (2008) Scion x-B. Yes, it’s still a favorite of mine.
New or used? I’ve always bought new cars. Starting back in time when I first had a job that paid well, 1962. I bought a brand new Corvair Spyder and was immediately hooked on that new car smell. Looking at a used car goes against all of my instincts (or habits) and I’m not sure that I can do it.
