I’m slow this morning. The sky has already turned to silver and I just started to write. Of course I had to recover from a Microsoft automatic restart before I could begin to see what was new in the world. And I spent a little time outside, enjoying the dawning.
I did read about the flooding in the Midwest and saw that Parkville, Missouri had been evacuated. OK, false alarm. The evacuation order was rescinded. I have enjoyed visiting this city more than a few times. It’s an easy detour when taking the highway out to the airport and there are a couple of good restaurants there as well as an historic downtown shopping area.
Piropos was one of those restaurants and it was quite good. In this picture you can see one of the buildings at Park University in the background. What you can’t see is the fact that Piropos sits on top of a steep hill and has a great view from the dining room. There are stairs to the right of the umbrellas that lead down to downtown. It’s quite a climb coming up but parking is very limited on top of the hill and so the climb is often mandatory if you want some good Argentine cuisine.
And speaking of water, we’re still without any water in the pool. Here’s a good picture of the pool without…
Why don't you plaster the dang thing and be done with it...where did your plastering skills go???
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth! I have thought of it, but it would also require rebar and gunite walls, plus the plastering. So the only savings over a new pool would be the cost of excavating...sigh!
ReplyDeleteAre you waiting for a new "skin" for it? How long until you will be able to swim?
ReplyDeleteWe ordered a new liner last winter and were told it would be done sometime in April...depending on the weather. A liner removal crew ripped out the old liner about a week ago and now we're waiting for the measuring crew; and the manufacturing crew and the installing crew...
