A very cool morning; for this time of year. Or is it normal? I think we have lost all the guidelines as to what is normal and what is not when it comes to weather. Anyway, we had a couple of very wet weather systems move through here yesterday and the results include a cooler morning for us. I should mention that I started the day, yesterday, by filling the pool…with a hose. After the rains, it’s pretty close to the top now!
Despite the rain, today is the day to irrigate the orchard and all is prepared for that task. I was able to get the orchard mowed (mown?) between downpours. The flooding should go pretty fast today as the ground is soaked.
After the irrigation is complete, we’re going into
And I want to get back to my Yupo project. I jumped back into watercolors because I was waiting for the hot wax gun to arrive; that’s for the step stool project. Now I think I can use the hot wax on the Yupo as a resist. I have a liquid resist that I have used on paper, but it’s sort of messy. (Liquid rubber?) I’m sure the hot wax won’t adhere to the finish of the Yupo.
Here's a closeup of the flowers I added to one of the works. Overall, I may have placed them vertically in the composition, where they should have been horizontal...But, I can place the Yupo on the driveway and spray the color off with a hose. And start again.
Very nice! Do you think the flowers are placed wrong? I like the vertical. The whole effect is very calming. I like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks...but of course I only showed you the part I liked. The rest of the painting seems to make this vertical placement a little out of kilter. I am thinking of filling the surface with flowers, that way the vertical or horizontal aspect fades from importance.
