My computer is moving sooo slowly this morning. It’s not the connection this time, it’s simply time to give up and reboot. Darn! What a hassle. Firefox hung up and wouldn’t close so I pushed the OFF button and paid for that hasty decision when the Chkdsk program appeared on reboot and made me wait while it checked every single file on my computer. I feel so special!
All is quiet right now. The twins are asleep. As is everyone else. I love the early morning quiet! And my coffee time…
I was reading a new book, (new to me) Infinite Jest by David Wallace, and this caught my eye, ‘Mario, what do you get when you cross an insomniac, an unwilling agnostic, and a dyslexic.’
‘I give’
‘You get somebody who stays up all night torturing himself mentally over the question of whether or not there’s a dog.’
Funny. Very funny!
Actually, I’m reading about four books right now. My reading chair is surrounded by open books once again. A bad habit. But, it’s better than television. And Michelle sent me a link that tells me that I’m on the right track with this decision to curb television viewing. I’m just waiting for the money to roll in! In the meantime, I bought a lottery ticket.
And Michelle also told me that she has more pictures and some videos of Colum to upload…once she has a good internet connection. As she is a satellite user, like me… I feel her pain! Maybe it’s sunspots that are causing these transmission problems? Anyway, I will post some here once I see them.
Another book; A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. This is a great book. If you want to get a feeling for the life of a citizen of Afghanistan, growing up in the 80’s and the 90’s in that dangerous country, this would be the book to read.
A different subject; this piece by Chris Pirillo about Web 2.0 is right on. I usually feel that Mr. Pirillo is a little too full of himself, but he is quite right about the Web 2.0 hype.
And last…something I found on the Chimp-O-Matic.
I want everybody to hear loud and clear that I'm going to be the president of everybody.
