The Good News

The holiday continues, with an additional day of heat to lure the crowds to the river. We decided to drive in to Chico for a short visit yesterday afternoon and we saw hundreds of party people heading to the water. Cars, trucks, buses and taxis were being used to transport the people, their tubes, and their refreshments. Being older and wiser, we returned home via the bridge at Ord Bend.

Since it’s a holiday, the news is somewhat sparse this morning. I am refreshing my list of RSS feeds and looking for something new and interesting in the blogs. Hmm? Nothing new from the relatives… and with my slow satellite browser connection, this may take awhile.

And that’s when I run across this story…and I begin to weep.

Japan has the world's fastest Internet connections, delivering more data at a lower cost than anywhere else, recent studies show.”

To paraphrase another commentator on this story… at least we have the world’s best health care system.
