Silly

Monday and I’m already cranky. What’s with these people? In general, I’m talking about the ones that are taking whatever they happen to see and/or read on the internet and believing it! Doesn’t anyone do basic research anymore? Specifically, it’s the photograph of Senator Obama, shown with other candidates and he is apparently the only one that doesn’t have his hand over his heart in what is supposedly a salute to the flag. Supposedly is right. According to ‘second opinions’ he is listening to the playing of the national anthem. Makes sense, as the flag happens to be behind everyone and if you were saluting you would probably face the flag. But that’s just the simple answer to the photo. What I don’t understand is why anyone would believe that a serious candidate would refuse to salute the flag, and in front of a huge crowd of people. And… after all this time of campaigning, this is the first time it’s been noted that the candidate doesn’t salute flags? Please! Sigh. I guess the Swift boating has begun again and the gullible are lining up to believe whatever is fed to them.

Oh, I did see another photo that was remarkable. Laura Bush and her husband, saluting the flag. Laura has her hand perfectly in place while hubby has his hand firmly planted on his stomach. I have no idea as to what that means and I don’t care! Attaching any importance to saluting flags is silly. Besides, we know that he has no heart, so where was he supposed to put his hand? (No. Don’t go there!)
