Trusted

Since it’s the first day of the year, I suppose I should include a physical assessment. I know that last night, as I was putting on my pajamas, Laurae commented that I was certainly making a lot of noise with my groans of discomfort. Oops! It’s true, stretching causes some pains in my joints, but I reassured her that although my body might be failing, my mind was still medium sharp.

And with the new year, comes a rededication to my pursuit of a 6th marathon medal. Trying to maintain a good practice routine during the holidays is almost impossible for me and so I don’t even try…it would be too demoralizing if I took it that seriously. It’s better to simply write off these past few weeks and then pursue it again in January. After the storm.

And speaking of ‘sharp minds’, I hope I can have one as sharp as Daniel Shorr’s. We were listening to him on Talk of The Nation (NPR) yesterday and I was thinking that he might be in his mid 80’s…but, he’s 91. And brilliant! He was answering listeners’ questions and someone asked him about Edward R. Murrow and how was he to work for? Mr. Shorr replied that Murrow was the ‘conscience’ of CBS. You asked Ed Murrow for his advice before you did anything questionable. Where are the Edward R. Murrow’s of today?
