Potential

Today will be a day of rest…along with some chores, of course. The woodstove is cold right now in preparation for a good cleaning. The ashes will be dumped in the garden today. And I will have to get a good supply of dry firewood stacked in the garage for the coming storm.

“Weather forecast charts indicate the potential for extremely strong winds... almost to the magnitude of the storm on December 12, 1995... when wind gusts from 60 to over 80 mph struck northern California... including portions
of the Sacramento Valley. The strong winds resulted in numerous
power outages throughout northern California.”

I went back to my Journal to see what I had written about that storm and found only this, “There was a terrible storm during the past few days, lots of wind and rain. First storm of the season and it was a killer.” Not very descriptive. I must do better this year.
