Why do TV Adds Work?

Why, indeed. The author does a good job of describing why so much money is spent on those 30 second attack ads that have no substance at all... Buy soap. Elect me. He's bad. I'm good. Buy pizza. Vote for me. Not him. Buy a new car. Film at 11.

Ah! I just had an idea...the candidates would be smart to buy time on the Home Shopping Network! Maybe they already do?
