And on another note…I was listening to NPR and all of the political chatter from around the nation as the reporters and listeners tried to make sense of the results from yesterday's voting. What I found most disturbing was the number of people who called in and reported that they were staunch Conservative Republicans and that they just couldn’t stand the fact that McCain was so liberal! McCain…a liberal? Please! And from what I could gather, the McCain crowd is going to spend a lot of time in the next week proving to the Conservatives that he can be just as narrow minded and spiteful as any one of them! Yay! Go John!

OK, that wasn’t fair. What I should have complained about was the fact that so many called in and simply repeated something they had heard in a political ad. They just parroted their favorite candidate. Or better yet; repeated something Rush Limbaugh said. No thought went into the formation of what was coming forth from their mouths. And that’s how candidates are chosen and that’s how we end up with presidents like Nixon, Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2. What a shame.
