Some more from

cab drollery

"Mr. McCain's red-meat rhetoric surely did not disappoint his base. He bemoaned the "common and systematic abuse of our federal courts by the people we entrust with judicial power," adding, "Assured of lifetime tenures, these judges show little regard for the authority of the president, the Congress, and the states. They display even less interest in the will of the people.""

Hello? That's exactly what I want from the judiciary. I want the law upheld and not held hostage to whoever sits in the White House. Or Congress... and my opinion as a citizen is just that; an opinion! The 'will of the people'? Which people?

Hear! HEAR! Steve. As it should be. But unfortunately, we're stuck with presidential political appointments to SCOTUS for a long, long time and it's going to be painful for the country and the Constitution.
