Especially interesting if you read the 'new' book, Discovery! by Wallace Stegner. It's the story of Aramco and the beginning of the Saudi oil empire. It's a fascinating book by a great author (Angle of Repose). Especially timely are the bits about Iraq and the British at that time (1930's).
