Not a peep

Another quiet morning. No wind and not even a cricket to listen to. Yes, it’s early; 4 AM. And I’m wandering through the Dell on-line computer factory as I try to come up with a decent configuration for a new computer. It looks like I will need to check in with a local PC dealer if I want to stay with the XP operating system; Dell doesn’t seem to offer it anymore. Or, should I bite the bullet and get Vista? Decisions, decisions.

Remember? Back when the office of Vice President was a joke? Cheney changed that forever as he used the office effectively to promote his own world view. All because he was dealing with a clueless president. And with the choice of Governor Palin as VP candidate, I’m now wondering about the mental capacity of McCain. This whole scenario has Rove’s fingerprints all over it.

With the Republicans claiming ‘experience’ for Governor Palin because of the fact that she is the governor of a state, I couldn’t help but think about what that meant. History can tell us a lot about that. For instance; Faubus, Long, Ventura, Wallace, Reagan, Davis, Bush…all were governors, and not one was qualified for the job. Hey! Look at California’s latest governor…how qualified is he? Not.

Of course I’m still trying to figure out why McCain didn’t ask Elizabeth Dole to be his VP? Now that would have been smart! Did he ask? And how many others were asked, both men and women, before he ran out of possibilities and asked Governor Palin?

Jeekers! I almost forgot...add Spiro T. Agnew as one of those governors with 'experience'.
