A recent Rasmussen Reports telephone finds that just 41 percent "now believe it is possible for the United States to win the nearly nine-year-old war in Afghanistan."
I will ask the questions again. The same old questions. How could you possibly know that you won? Will someone surrender? How stupid can we be?
I coulda told you that when that idiot Bush ran after Iraq.....the whole area = hornet's nest.
ReplyDeleteYou're asking the right question. Just once, I'd like to see a poll ask something along the lines of "Can the US win the war in Afghanistan?" "Do you know what victory there looks like?" (If yes, please share with the rest of us.)
ReplyDeleteI read the Rolling Stones article and saw that those in charge don't even know what a 'victory' would look like. Incredible!
ReplyDeleteGreat piece today on MSNBC Dylan Ratigan Show: An Accounting of The War in Afghanistan.
ReplyDeleteNo, we can't win. No, we can't afford it. No, we can't do what Gen'l Petraeus asks.
We can fight that war or we can extend benefits to our own unemployed, but not both, apparently.
It's criminal, but there is no one brave enough to arrest those responsible...
ReplyDeleteso true, Steven, that's the bottom line......
