Too warm. I want my thermostat! Fire (and heat) at the flick of switch, or a transistor. I may have to open a window this morning to cool off the house. Regulating the house temperature with a wood fire is pretty tricky and you’re either too hot or too cold. And where are our furnace repair parts? Nothing has been heard from the service company during the past two weeks, so I suppose I had better get on the phone and give them a call. In the meantime, we are due to get a refund from PG&E because our natural gas usage has dropped so much from the amount consumed last year at this time. No kidding!
All is quiet this morning. Not a lot of news, local or otherwise. But…we did hear that there was another accident at the nearby intersection, Hwy 32 and Road P. It was supposed to have happened on Saturday night during the rain. Our neighbors told us that the sound of the crash shook their house. We never heard a thing, though Laurae said she thought she heard sirens that evening. And I’ve looked on-line at the local newspaper and not a word about the accident can be found.
The intersection is a deadly one and it needs a signal. But since Caltrans will make that decision, we have no hope of it happening soon. In the meantime, we are fortunate that the house is so well built that we don’t have to listen to the sounds of tragedy. We only see the skid marks and the new memorials alongside the road.
I did read this in the news, “The Bush administration is haunted by the history of intelligence blunders about
Isn’t that sad? Yes, it’s sad that this administration has become so well known for the lies it has spread and not any of the positive things that they might have done in the name of democracy. Now, whenever I read a statement from the current administration, my first thought is that it’s a lie.
