I was just reading an article about the rising popularity of bicycles and the new riders’ appreciation of the dismal conditions on the road. I really don’t know how some do it; it’s life threatening. Mixing bicycles and automobiles is plain crazy! Yes, I would love to ride my bike more often, but where? The next time you’re out driving, keep an eye on the cars ahead of and behind you and see how many times they stray into the bike lane, that tiny strip alongside the highway that is rutted and filled with trash. Now imagine yourself on a bike in that lane. What fun!
